ayaka, 64.
every single day she orders the very same thing, sits at the very same table and takes the exact same amount of time to finish.
black sumatran coffee, toast, extra butter and honey.
the coffee needs to be boiling hot and always fresh.
if she notices that the pot has been sitting there at the counter for a while, she politely asks for a fresh one and waits.
lately with the pandemic, she often does take out.
but it is not the same.
you see, the picture above doesn’t do justice— but across from her favorite spot— she can watch the bread making process through the glass.
and although she prefers traditional toast, she loves to watch how croissants are made.
today ayaka decided to stay longer.
she ordered a second cup of coffee.
this time, the colombian.
and the second cup arrived just in time— as a new batch of croissants started to be slowly rolled. one by one.
