a little over seven years ago i put together a very similar one.
but in portuguese— and with photos from people from brazil and portugal.
the idea is somewhat simple.
i often take dozens of photos of strangers every week.
this site, as the title says, is an attempt to imagine who these people are.
what they eat, think, study, do.
do they prefer coffee or tea? do they prefer ramen or soba?
are they from tokyo? or are they just visiting?
the people are real. the stories, completely made up.
every other week, new stories will be added.
